Reinforcing trust through integrity: amfori at the APSCA annual meeting
Audit integrity is more than a goal; it’s an ongoing commitment and a shared responsibility.
With more complex and global supply chains, the credibility of social audits is facing growing challenges: overlapping standards, fragmented processes, and difficulty detecting unethical practices. At amfori, we believe trust and professionalism are key components in social compliance. As a cornerstone of our Assurance programme, audit integrity drives both technical quality and ethical conduct across the audit ecosystem.
Why does audit integrity matter?
Integrity in social audits is essential for responsible trade. Yet, audit fatigue and inconsistent practices can undermine their purpose. amfori is committed to tackling these issues head-on because credible, ethical audits protect businesses, workers, and communities.
Our action in 2025
This year, we took bold steps to advance audit integrity. Through collaboration with APSCA and other partners, amfori has:
- Brought together several stakeholders (companies, suppliers, auditors, auditing companies, APSCA, etc.) to address systemic risks with the Audit Integrity Project.
- Conducted joint investigations to tackle the root causes of unethical practices.
- Trained auditors worldwide to uphold the highest standards.
- Fostered open dialogue through webinars and local/global calibration meetings worldwide to ensure the voices of auditors and stakeholders are heard and valued
APSCA annual meeting: A platform for impact
The APSCA Annual Meeting in Porto (18–20 November 2025) is an important moment for the global audit community. Three amfori key speakers will highlight our active participation (amfori President, Senior Advocacy Advisor and Auditing Expert). It underscores amfori’s commitment to shaping the future of ethical auditing.
The event provides a unique opportunity to:
- Demonstrate amfori’s commitment to audit integrity and professionalism
- Engage with APSCA members, social auditors, NGOs, and other industry leaders
- Reinforce the message that integrity is built through collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
After these intense three days, amfori continues to listen, learn and take action. Our bi-annual global calibration meeting is held this year in Porto. This is an important and regular meeting we have with our auditing partners. We are eager to discuss challenges, find solutions and reinforce ethical practices.
Looking ahead: from Porto to the world
amfori’s efforts extend beyond the APSCA annual event. Local calibration meetings across the globe, ongoing stakeholder engagement, and a December webinar all reinforce the organisation’s ongoing commitment to ethical auditing. By linking these initiatives, amfori is not only raising awareness but also driving meaningful participation and change throughout the audit ecosystem.
