TRICORP’s Environmental Journey with amfori BEPI
TRICORP has been a proud member of amfori since 2019. However, it wasn’t until early 2024 that the company started to effectively utilise amfori BEPI. As a workwear company, TRICORP has good chemical management procedures in place and want to use amfori BEPI to work more closely with suppliers to collect and share data on environmental risks so that these can be addressed.
amfori BEPI activities most used by TRICORP
Within amfori BEPI, TRICORP engages primarily with resources available in the amfori Academy and with Risk Assessments. As of now, they have initiated a BEPI Risk Assessment with one supplier. TRICORP acknowledges that suppliers have varying levels of maturity when it comes to monitoring environmental data. ‘Our suppliers are encouraged to work with us to make amfori BEPI part of their regular tasks,’ the company pointed out.
What TRICORP values the most in amfori BEPI
To TRICORP, one of the standout features of amfori BEPI is the knowledgeable team that is always around to provide support and answer any questions promptly. Additionally, TRICORP said ‘We trust that the basic data used by amfori to do Risk Assessments is relevant. It gives a good direction of the risks to address.’
Beyond that, TRICORP underlined that amfori’s global platform and credibility enable them to collaborate with suppliers through a single tool, facilitating progress sharing in a common language. Even when their leverage may be low, a supplier can use the amfori BEPI learnings to continuously improve their own operation and to share best practices with other customers too.
TRICORP’s View on Training and Resources
While TRICORP has found trainings available in the amfori Academy useful for understanding the principles of amfori BEPI, they observed that the practical instructions for brands and suppliers to improve their environmental management are somewhat lacking. They expressed concerns about referring their suppliers to the amfori Academy due to not being fully aware of the content they get to access. Similarly, they commented that the manuals, while comprehensive, are sometimes difficult to find information.

amfori BEPI and TRICORP’s Sustainability Goals
Since TRICORP has only recently started using amfori BEPI, there have not yet been measurable results via amfori BEPI in achieving sustainability goals. Much of the time has been dedicated to understanding the amfori BEPI tool, figuring out what to ask from business partners, and guiding them with appropriate resources and directions so that they can efficiently use the amfori Sustainability Platform.
Despite this, TRICORP’s representative expressed confidence that as familiarity with amfori BEPI grows, the company will be able to better support suppliers and make significant progress.
