Meet the Swiss Network
It consists of elected members and is an integral part of amfori's governance structure, demonstrating the importance of local support. Specific Swiss concerns are formally prepared, submitted to and represented by the secretariat in Brussels. In addition, it maintains a wide range of contacts with the interested public, stakeholders, consumer protection organizations, federal authorities, NGOs, and the media. Furthermore, the concerns of amfori and its members are represented in these organizations, both in working groups and at specific events or in parliamentary committees. In addition, with amfori Switzerland, we have a strong voice on the Board of Directors in Brussels: Vera Galarza Heinrichs (Triumph Holding AG), who is committed to representing the interests of our members. The Steering Committee is composed of the following members.

amfori is an association. As a member of amfori, you are not certified and do not receive a label, but you do sign a Code of Conduct (COC). By signing this code of conduct, you commit to taking appropriate measures. Producers with whom you work must also sign the COC. Audits are carried out on the producers. Your company is not audited. You can state on your website that you are a member of amfori (see question ‘How does amfori communicate?’).
At amfori, there are no basic requirements for becoming a member. You sign up to our shared values and continuously implement improvements in your supply chains (principle of continuous improvement). You are not audited yourself, but you initiate audits with your producers and suppliers.
Any company, from a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) to a large corporation, regardless of industry, can join amfori. With our 40 years of cross-industry experience and the system built by and with companies, you receive first-class services for all types of industries.
Please allow approximately one month for the membership process.

We have been the global voice for open and sustainable trade for over 40 years, more information here.
Our headquarters are in Brussels, which allows us to be very close to EU policy, which is decisive for Switzerland in many areas.
Globally, we have country representatives on every continent – producers are present in over 100 countries. Through our network of local representatives, we can offer you country-specific information, insights into political developments and important local expertise. The local networks also provide access to national governments and stakeholders.
In cooperation with a number of governments, NGOs and organisations, we help shape the political, legal and social landscape, support fair trade and human prosperity – while ensuring success for our members.
Last but not least, we have established a Stakeholder Advisory Council to coordinate priorities and strategies: amfori SAC.
How does supply chain risk management work?
You can record your supply chain on the amfori Sustainability Platform. With our risk tool (ESG Risk Compass), you can quickly identify which countries are particularly risky and which aspects are particularly relevant. It makes sense to carry out audits first where the risks are greatest. If one of your producers is already on the platform and has been audited, another member has already done the work for you.
Templates:
All templates for work, documents and records are available in up to 33 languages here.
How audits work:
They are initiated on the amfori Sustainability Platform . A selection of accredited audit firms can be found here.
When you initiate an audit of a producer on the platform, the audit partner receives a message, conducts the audits on site and then uploads the audit report to the platform. You can conveniently view the report there. Another advantage of this shared database is that you can see whether your producer has already been registered by another member and whether audits have already been carried out. You can then use these as well. This helps us to avoid audit fatigue and costs.
You yourself will not be audited.
How much time does it take?
The time required depends on the size of your company and the number of producers and suppliers you work with. For a small to medium-sized company, you should expect to spend about a quarter of a day per week on average.
Who can see the data?
The data on the platform is confidential – both your connections to producers and what you purchase from them. Once you have initiated and completed an audit, the auditing company stores the report on the platform. And you will see the results. If another company in the system is connected to the same producer, it can also view the audit report (and vice versa – if you are the company that is connected to a producer and another customer of the producer has initiated the audit).
We accompany you on your journey:
Our amfori Academy offers a wealth of valuable webinars and tutorials. At , everything may be new to you at first. The amfori Academy will guide you through the material step by step. In addition, member meetings are held twice a year in Switzerland, an international annual conference and short webinars where you can exchange ideas with colleagues from other companies and receive regular updates from us – whether about further developments at amfori, training courses, current topics in Switzerland and internationally that support your company in its work.
