Local network UK & Ireland
Connect, learn, and collaborate locally in the UK & Ireland
Our local presence in the UK & Ireland offers members practical guidance and regular opportunities to engage through meetings and workshops. These sessions allow members to share experiences and explore ways to strengthen sustainability across their supply chains.
The local network also facilitates engagement with local stakeholders and provides context-specific advice tailored to national challenges and priorities.
The UK and Ireland have evolved from early ethical trade efforts to robust due diligence frameworks. In the UK, initiatives like the Ethical Trading Initiative (1998) and Modern Slavery Act 2015 laid the foundation for transparency in supply chains, with leading companies now aligning with the OECD Guidelines.
In Ireland, the movement grew from fair-trade campaigns to structured business commitments like the Responsible Business Pledge (2012). Legal milestones include the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Acts and the 2024 Corporate Sustainability Reporting Regulations, which mandate audited ESG and supply chain disclosures.
