Our team based in Hong Kong SAR, China plays a key role in empowering and supporting our Chinese members and their suppliers to effectively use amfori solutions. The team also facilitates engagement with local stakeholders and provides context-specific advice tailored to national challenges and priorities.

China has long been the top sourcing country for amfori members, with more than 38,000 Chinese producers. However, the soon-to-be world’s largest economy is transitioning from a sourcing country to a member country as businesses have a growing interest in joining amfori.

The country has aligned many of its social and environmental policies with global standards, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Key laws like the Labour Contract Law and recent amendments to protect women’s rights have strengthened workplace protections.

China aims to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2060. The new Energy Law and Chinese Sustainability Disclosure Standard support this transition and promote national sustainability reporting.
