2025 retrospective: Driving innovation for responsible supply chains
As 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on a year of transformative progress in our mission to enable members with robust and holistic risk management solutions. In 2025, our product development focused on three strategic pillars: risk identification, risk verification, and risk prevention. We delivered features and methodologies that strengthen transparency, accountability, and resilience across global supply chains.
Mapping beyond tier-1
In March 2025, we launched the Multi-Tier Product Supply Chain Mapping feature. It enables members to visualise and assess ESG risks across all supply chain layers—not just tier-1 suppliers. This breakthrough brings greater transparency and helps businesses identify social and environmental risks upstream. It also supports prioritising action where it matters most. Alongside this, the new Risk & Impact Management Module in amfori SustainaPass provides a structured view of supply chain data for confident decisions. We also improved the accuracy of risk levels in the amfori ESG Risk Compass with a new methodology.
Supplier-initiated audits: Shared responsibility
July marked a significant step toward collaborative ESG risk management with the introduction of supplier-initiated audits. This feature allows suppliers linked to amfori members to request amfori BSCI, BEPI, and QMI audits directly. This fosters proactive engagement and reinforces transparency across the network.
Continuous Improvement turns insight into impact
In October, we launched a new methodology for the Continuous Improvement feature on the amfori Sustainability Platform. This new phased-approach methodology guides suppliers through corrective and preventive actions post-audit, making it easier to transform audit findings into meaningful actions.
Strengthening audit quality and integrity
Our Audit Assurance Programme (AAP) has reinforced audit integrity and credibility. Throughout the year, we intensified our efforts to ensure that all amfori audits meet the highest benchmarks for quality and transparency. These enhancements reflect our commitment to ethical auditing and professional excellence.
SSCI benchmark: Aligning with global standards
A milestone in 2025 was our progress on the SSCI Benchmarking exercise, led by the Consumer Goods Forum. Our work aims to be recognised as a credible social compliance scheme thanks to a thorough and rigorous benchmarking process. After applying in late 2023, we worked throughout 2025 to align the amfori BSCI framework with SSCI criteria.
The public consultation is online until 24 December.
Looking ahead to 2026
Ultimately, 2025 was a year of innovation and collaboration. By introducing multi-tier mapping, enabling supplier-driven audits, embedding continuous improvement, and strengthening audit assurance, we have supported our members in building resilient and responsible supply chains. As we move into 2026, our focus remains clear: we’ll continue to deliver integrated, data-driven risk management solutions through collaboration and expertise.
